Edward Derby's Creative Writing Workshop | Sep 19 - Oct 17

“The first sentence can’t be written until the final sentence is written.” —Joyce Carol Oates

The first paragraph is the rest of the story.  The first paragraph is written last. We will read and discuss a short story each class and examine how this works for different authors. We will craft and workshop our own stories with special attention to beginnings.
